My parents love to stay in touch, and wish to hear from their son once a week or at least a couple of times per month...

Now I'm lucky, as they are in their 80's, and still into computers and internet... so we skype at the moment... but they also love to see me in real life... and video-calling with skype with my current speed is ridiculous...

the video is ok, but the conversation is something like:

hello, can you hear me!!! peter, can you hear us?, yes, I can hear you... yes, we hear you, do you hear us?

well you get the pic... you talk for 20 minutes to establish everybody hears the other one, only 3 minutes later... :bunny:

are there better solutions? We have a speed of around 128kbs...

Thanks

I found out that the older version of Skype works better and faster (in spite of Skype's claim of the boo-goo-bammm new version).

At 128k there is no solution, period.

Note that almost every new internet application requires MORE bandwidth, not less.
