Default Texas Hold'em poker in DR

Hey guys I need to know which casinos in the country have a regular game of Texas Hold em poker. I will be traveling throughout the country in the next several weeks trying to set up some satelite games for a big tournament to be held in November in Bavaro. I would appreciate it if you could post casino names and where they are located so as to make my trek a little less hectic and more rewarding, Also if you have the name of the manager or who runs the games that would be great also but please do that in a PM.
    Thanks in advance.

hey badpiece! i have always been wondering the same thing, where on this island are there regular games of texas hold em? only ones i ever see posted here on this forum is when Conchman announces them up north. I personally have not seen anything regular in any of the casinos on the malecon. A few times I have encountered one table going on all weekend at the Hamaca but that seems to be once in a blue moon because i usually stop by there to see if any poker games are going on whenever i am in the BC area....
good luck, i would love to partake in a good poker game whenever i do go visit!

Maybe you had best go see one of the Elias family. They run a bunch of casinos.

HB (who knows nada about casinos)

My husband worked for Edmond Elias at the Mauna Loa Casino 35 years ago, we usually stop to say hello when we're in SD. He has a Facebook page, you can send him a message there and ask if there are any poker games in DR

    Edmond Elias Vasquez | Facebook

I'll ask my husband when he gets home if he's ever seen poker in SD - he knows them all pretty well.

Not sure about that. St Teresa's Festival in August, here in the BX, has gambling for money in the annex.

Games include blackjack, Texas Hold'em, and the roulette tables. Not for charity but actual money. Also, many Catholic churches have nightly bingo games.

    Santo Domingo:

They have poker at the Melia Casino [malecon] - manager is Mario Emilio Arte [but they call him Nappy] - 809-682-2102-3-4-5-6

Hispaniola Casino [corner Independencia and A. Lincoln] - not sure about poker - Jose Rivera is the manager 829-535-9292

He thinks the Jaragua may have poker too [malecon, not far from Melia]

Other casinos you can try: El Embajador [Ave Sarasota off Churchill]; Mauna Loa [La Feria, near centro de los heroes]

No poker to speak of, we used to get a game going for a few hours if we had enough interest, but nothing regular and not worth the time of even looking into that, funny casino with funny rules and always a Drunken Dominican making a dramaitc exit over a couple of hundres pesos.
    I'd give it a miss!!
