Yeah, but do't try and tell a taxi driver that...Texas will get you there!! Same thing with Av. Metropolitana, it's supposed to be Pou something....but nobody is calling it anything other than Metropolitana.

Just be sure that the dentist is an "estomatologist" ...they seem to care more for your mouth, teeth, etc....

HB

Heck, for something that simple you can go to the pUCMM Dental Clinic and get it done (by English speaking lasses and lads!!) nearly for free!!

I know what you mean with the Name Change Luis...
They also did that to the main street in the barrio where I live.

For those that are familiar with the area, the old name is the best bet.
If someone comes and explores on their own, they will be looking forever for Av. Texas, lol
At least with Av. Metropolitana, it is included on the new street sign name, if you can read micro-print while driving. ;) lol

The three worse things in the DR about street names are:
(1) There is most likely no street sign.
(2) There is a street sign, but not with the name you are looking for. (Name Change)
(3) Every few blocks is another barrio and thus "Calle 1" occurs 100?s of times in the same city.
(Even on opposite sides of the main road you are on, but it?s not the same street)

Oh, and don?t expect house numbers to always be in numerical sequence.
72 does not always come after 28 in the DR, or even occur just once on the same street.
