Uninstall Firefox through Control Panel using Add/Remove Programs??? You can reinstall it later, and it your bookmarks etc will still be there

I'm assuming you have a PC and that you've already scanned for viruses.

DNS Lookup Error

The other day I could not open a certain FTA-site. All I would get was "DNS lookup error". Other pages worked without problems.
I ran a spybot search and found browser entries.
Problem resolved.

ok - thanks all - I did scan for viruses - and the Norton anti virus found 5 whatevers and cleaned it up..

Now using firefox with no sight of naked bodies,,

Could I have gotten this from a USB drive?

or would it have had to come from the Web?

If you loaned or borrowed a UBS driver , yes.
From the web, if you don't have an up to date anti-virus program, yes.

Yes indeed. They are rampant here and I get these viruses all the time when copying info onto a friends usb. I sometimes wonder how my friends computers even work with all of those viruses.

Whenever you insert a strange USB into your computer port, run a virus scan on it before opening access to the USB. It will show on your menu as "E:" or "F:" probably. It will save you some grief.

Yeah - I got that one now!!!!

But can you clean up a USB by just deleting everything on it without opening anything?

Not always depending on if your operating system settings won't show hidden files. You could reformat it I suppose but the best bet would be to scan it with your antivirus program. A right click over the usb drive should have that option.

Thanks, Chip... I just called her to tell her what had happened since I did not want her ten year old daughter perhaps getting the same XXX spam thing --

We are going to use Google docs to share stuff from now on,.,

It was like having to tell a partner that they had given you an STD,,,,
