Hi Helen,
yes, that's the Majestic Elegance.
the Majestic Colonial sells Day Passes for $115.- per Person, don't know if they sell evening/night passes.
AFAIK the Elegance does not sell any Day/Night Passes,
we've been there for a week's stay like we do every few months, not on a Daypass.
to be sure, cal Omaira Garcia at the Elegance Concierge, she can give you the accurate info.

Thanks for the info Mike. Do you know of any hotels that will sell just a ticket for their buffet, in the evening?

most Hotels in the Area sell Daypasses(Pase de Dia) and evening/night passes(Pase de Noche), depending on Occupation of the specific Resort of course, during Peak Season many do not sell them.
a Evening/Night Pass usually starts around 6PM and entitles for Dinner at the Buffet, drinks at their Bars, visit their evening show, at most Resorts it also allows to visit their Discotheque.
of course you have to ask the specifics at each Resort, there are variations on the Time Entering and Leaving on a Eve Pass, Disco In or not, included drinks at some resorts are local beverages, not the imported alcohol etc etc.

if You are in the Cabeza de Toro Area I would recommend the Buffet at the Catalonia Bavaro Hotel, one of the best in PC, catch the details and availability on 1-809-412-0000

if You are in the Bavaro Area I recommend the Buffet at the Grand Palladium Bavaro, we spend a evening there with resident friends once in a while, here the night pass costs $60.- per Person, you can drive in at 6PM and stay til 2AM, great Buffet and their Bars are nice places to hang out after dinner for some drinks, at the Palladium the night pass includes the visit of their Discotheque. they require to call them before you arrive, as everywhere they would not sell a nightpass when the Hotel is fully booked, number is 1-221-8149, ask to get connected to Guest services at the Bavaro(Relaciones Publicas de Bavaro).
bring always a Cedula/Foto ID/Passport, they will keep that in the Reception Safe til you check out.

have Fun

Yes Dalila,
the way they run the services and variety and quality of Food etc etc
I would name the Majestic Elegance, the Palladium Bavaro and the Catalonia Bavaro Outstanding from the Crowd of AI Resorts.

The Hard Rock/Moon Palace may well be impressive, but those plastic signs they've put up at the entrance make it look like a Caba?a :D

You need to take another look at the entrance. There is a 20 ft. guitar there and at night there is fire coming out at the entrance. Those signs were from the Haiti convention.

I disagree on that.
the signs outside are not better or more impressive than any Carnival Make Up on the Isle.
the Moon Palace the Best AI in the Area/Island???
heck, time that you visit some good Places in PC.
I do not rank the large Moon Palace and it's steril completely Non Caribbean Flair in my Top 30 of the Resorts in Punta Cana.
Tastes are very different I guess, lol.
i did not visit the Casino, Yet,
that one I heard is the first real casino in PC, I will see that one soon.
til now I did not find a real Casino in PC.
cheers

Mike I have stayed in the Moon palace 2 times in the last month and have stayed at what you cosidered one of the better hotels, Catolina Bavaro also 2 times this year, I liked Catolina Bavaro and would reccomend it to a person on a budget, The moon palace is just impressive in all aspects from the 24/7 room service to the real restaurants not just buffet food. The Moon palace also has better liquor by far not just national drinks. The rooms in moon palace are also superior to other hotels in Bavaro that I have been in. I still like Catolina Bavaro but it does not compare at all.

I meant the plastic guitar and another new sign. For me they said "caba?as" rather than elegance and style. Fire coming out from the entrance? :paranoid: Thanks for the warning - though I would never voluntarily stay at any AI.

Well unfortunately that is the trademark symbol of the Hardrock and that is the way it is worldwide, Guess many many others like the cabana look then.

I will take a Walk to see it with Sky, soon.
in general you can't compare them anyways, look on the Rates You pay at a Moon Palace and the rates at the Catalonia.
and the SIZE.
that's my mainpoiny, I don't like to vacation in large City Monsters, I like it smaller, want to know the people around Me, and I want a caribbean Flair that will not be given at a Monster Resort like the Moon Palace or a Bahia Principeor a Palladium etc etc.
it is each's Taste.
aside of a Month in Europe we've been this year just twice a week at a resort, both Times at the Majestic Elegance, small to navegate, great services, no complain on Food on many visits, we travel without the Kids, so the 2 Room Swimup Suite with the lil Garden and big Veranda at the Pool is exactly what we look for.
for the large Stuff of Colors and typical American flair I take a cheap flight to Vegas and stay 2 nights with a Buddy or Two, did that at least 10 times, that's Fun for a Weekend, but IMHO nothing for a Caribbean Vacation.
each Thingy at it's Time and at it's Place.
Mike
