I saw one on sale for 1950rd today in the Int. Mall in Santiago. It was not in Radio Shack. I can't recall exactly the store, but it was a store with computer equipment and other gadgets. I really did not pay attention to the location, but it should be easy to find if you look around.

It was in the window of the store.

    Thanks for your leads.
I bought one from the Plaza Internacional for a little below DR$ 2000,
    however now I know a source for DR$ 1500.
So far I like MJ, the quality is pretty good - actually a lot better than Vonage was lately. I did try to call US and Canada and received calls from there.
The disadvantage to Vonage your PC or laptop has to be ON to receive and initiate phone calls otherwise your voice mail will kick in.
Anyway, I think it's a great investment - especially if you buy it for DR$ 1500.

BTW, I checked in Radio Shack first, but they don't sell it here. The guy sent me to the 2nd floor also.

    That is a HUGE disadvantage.

BTW, Vonage is crap too. There is a bunch of other VoIP providers out there with much better rates. Have been using them for years.

Compare the rates, here - betamax price comparison

    Default Google Phone

I heard of Google phone a while ago... just starting using it. Calls to the US are FREE - this year. Even 1-800 numbers work. If you want to call a local number, you have to put minutes on... Local calls are approx. 0.11/min.

    Hope that this helps.
