Default RD$10,000 limit at Scotia Bank ATMs

My wife was just informed that Scotia bank started today with a daily limit on atm withdrawals of 10,000 pesos. We use a Bank of America debit card so this is somewhat of a problem. Their exchange rates with the card was bad but today with the new deal? they paid 37.30. Anyone experiencing issues with Scotia Bank?

Thanks for the update. I haven't tried Scotia. Do they charge the $112 fee per withdrawal? I have found that the exchange rates are fairly good with the debit cards when the cash actually comes out of the ATM after being debited from your account. I think only Progreso and BR don't charge the $112 fee now. $10,000 per day seems to limit the functions of the card, but maybe it is for the best with all the problems these ATM's have with networks, etc.

Might want to try Progreso. I pulled out $RD15,000 at one time. However, the next time I tried to do so, no money came out and they debited my account. Not Good! So keep transactions small. I have a feeling this is why the banks are limiting the withdrawal size as a result of this problem with the networks and atms.

I have used the Banreservas ATM at Playa Dorada many times taking out 10,000 or 12,000.
Don't know what the limit is but it is way more than 4,000 there.

We have always beeen limited, it seems by an amount at one time at different banks, but my Bank of America card has a limit of around 20,000 rd. so we may have hit it 2 or 3 times. It may be a network issue. My wife griped to a big boss about the change rates and he said that's why they were placing a 10k limit per day. Someone has been skimming lots of money!!!!!!

Are you sure the Manager did not mean $RD10,000 per atm transaction?
