Being an escort is NOT difficult.

With AAAS taking on several hundreds of animals a year, naming them must be a challenge. Does it matter what the name is? Is a rose still not a rose? The dog, cat or horse will respond to what name it is given in a very short time by a kind friend. We have taken in dogs from the beach and from Judy?s and have ?made up names?, that have worked just fine.

This dog, BUTTERCUP, has an owner waiting for him/her in Canada. All expenses paid but needs an escort on the same plane. All paperwork done and owner waiting. Just a little extra time on the escorts part that gets to meet a very grateful new pet owners at arrival. What a greeting that must be.

I think that Buttercup does not care what his/her name is. I?m sure that the people waiting for her don?t care either. I'll bet that the name "Buttercup" stays.

SO.. Who can escort this animal to it?s new home?

To the OP. You do a great job and I thank you.

AAAS was able to help over 50 dogs from a local situation in the Sosua area with the help of others in Santiago, many of those dogs are now in new homes.

They don't care what their names are. Really.

Thank You - Travel Companion Found

Thank you to everyone for your help and response. I really appreciate everyone who has offered to be a travel companion or offered suggestions. I am happy to say that we have a volunteer who is going to fly Buttercup from POP to Toronto. Here she will meet her new family from Woodstock for the first time.

Anyone in the thread who has offered to be a travel campanion or sent me a message I will be getting in touch with you for being a possible travel companion for future dogs adopted to Toronto area. I really appreciate all your offers.....it means alot to me. I would like to try to get a few other dogs from AAAS adopted out and back to Toronto.

Buttercup and one of her puppies were dumped at Payero (our big grocery store) in Sosua. They were both frantic darting in and out of the traffic. We were able to catch the puppy who we named Butterscotch because of her beautiful color. Butterscotch is at our house and is a happy 6 month old pup now. The mama who was called "Butterscotch's Mama" lived under cars downtown and would not go near anyone. I tried for three months everyday to befriend her and she would bolt. One day luck was with us and we were able to get a leash around her. I never ever gave up on getting her. She let me pick her up, put her in the car and take her into Judy's to get her fixed. She had a tumour as well but now is fine. She is a very very happy little girl. A lady from Woodstock, ON, CA has been following my story about her on my facebook page and my many many attempts at catching her. She fell in love with her and wants to give her a chance at a good life. She felt Butterscotch's Mama was too long of a name so she shortened it to Buttercup. So that is Buttercup's story.

Below is a video I made of some of the bigger dogs that are for aodoption at AAAS. Buttercup is in there of course. All the dogs are labelled so you will be able to pick her out. If you are interested in one let me know!:)

Thanks so much everyone!!
Tanya and the doggies at AAAS love you!!
