Havana Club is a sweet rum that comes in many varieties. from Blanco (the youngest and rawest) unitl 15 years old (not commonly marketed), as you go down the list (anejo, 5, 7, Reserva) they become exponentially smoother because of the additives.

It ain't bad but not the best rum I've ever tasted. In the DR I'd recommend the local rums; Brugal if you like em sweet, if only for the price difference.

Although a night in Havana Centro's Casa de la Musica with Los Van Van, a good bottle of A?ejo and some hot dancing is quite and experience

If you like Havana Club, try Macoris 8 a?os Dominican rum) much much better than Havana

There is a Rum made by some cuban folks in the DR... it is called Optimus and it is really good.
