The Dominican Republic scored a 3 and ended up on a shared 101st place on a list of 178 countries in the Corruption Perception Index.

Maybe they used the same surveys conducted by the DR Govt.

This is a load. The corruption in Mexico is wa-a-ay worse than in the DR.

The DR scored a 3 wow!!!!!!!!!! Most likely it didn't include the corrupted politicians, police, lawyers, and judges if so it would be bumped up to at least 7.5 or 8!!!!

Unlike the Dominican Republic, Mexico is a very well-banked, investment grade country. Given the recent events in Mexico and the exposure it gets in the United States, Mexico probably just seems way worse than the DR.

A good way to look at it, would be to imagine a country the size of Texas inhabited by a 100 million Dominicans. Yikes!!

What is interesting is that the USA went from 16th to 22nd, down 6 places; gives yes we can a whole different meaning. The DR was actually was 99 last year so 101 is a drop of two. The higher the number the more corrupt. Remember it is the perception on corruption.

That was my first thought - this is about how corruption is perceived.

What about how corruption actually is?

Would the D.R. do better or worse?
