The DR scored a 3 wow!!!!!!!!!! Most likely it didn't include the corrupted politicians, police, lawyers, and judges if so it would be bumped up to at least 7.5 or 8!!!!

I Politely Disagree With that Statement

This is a load. The corruption in Mexico is wa-a-ay worse than in the DR.
Unlike the Dominican Republic, Mexico is a very well-banked, investment grade country. Given the recent events in Mexico and the exposure it gets in the United States, Mexico probably just seems way worse than the DR.

A good way to look at it, would be to imagine a country the size of Texas inhabited by a 100 million Dominicans. Yikes!!

What is interesting is that the USA went from 16th to 22nd, down 6 places; gives yes we can a whole different meaning. The DR was actually was 99 last year so 101 is a drop of two. The higher the number the more corrupt. Remember it is the perception on corruption.

Looked again, and you are right. Sorry for the mis-statement. Got it backwards.

The DR has not improved. It fell from rank #99 last year to rank #101. The lowest ranks represent the countries with the worst corruption.

The only thing that has improved here for some dirt bags is to get over the last ethic hurdles.
