Hi there! I am a young American teacher and I am interested in studying for a semester at a university in Santo Domingo. I have a friend living there and I will stay with her. I would do so to improve my Spanish. I have already graduated in the US and am not pursuing any degree. I would like to study anthropology/linguistics and philosophy as well as perhaps Spanish literature. I have a few questions:
1. How difficult is it to enroll as an unaffiliated student? I could also enroll under audit status if there is such a thing (como oyente).
2. Will an entrance exam be required?
3. Which university is best for the humanities?
4. What would the total cost of this pursuit be? (tuition + fees + materials)
5. Does anyone have any idea how I would go about beginning to arrange this from a distance?
