There's nothing like the wisdom of experience

A doctor was addressing an audience.

"What we put into our stomachs is enough to kill us all. Red meat is awful, soft drinks are corrosive to the lining of our stomach, Chinese dishes are full of MSG, saturated fat in our diets can be disastrous and none of us realizes the damage caused by the bacteria in our drinking water. But one thing that is most dangerous of all that we ate or that will eat: can someone tell me what food is causing us the most trouble and suffering for years after eating?"

After several seconds of silence, a septuagenarian in the first row
raises his hand and said softly:

"A wedding cake"
