Gentlemen and Ladies, you are funny and unique

It took me a while to understand the dynamics of the members of this forum, because after all you come from different regions of the planet and each of you has a sense of humour. It takes time to start to appreciate each one and when one takes the time to read between the line, you are all unique. Even the ones who na?vely ask questions that I could be tempted to ask or to reply to with the usual sentence wake up. But, each one of you brings life, and do not ever change. I stumbled on DR1 almost a year ago, because I wanted to buy a condo, the buy never materialized as we didn't feel paying condo fees and university for our son leaving home next year. But, I just wanted to tell you that all of you made me laugh or think this past few days and for that I have to thank you.

Ah, a north African Cuban, living in Quebec, that explains it all. LOL. It takes a while to figure out some of the charactures out of this forum.

Wow, someone else with a complicated background. LaLouve, it's good to have you with us - you're definitely fitting in here just fine.

WOW this is really a great post and I concur with LaLouve. I do not post often but I read DR1 everyday and it's very entertaining fun to view all the particularities of each poster.
This is the best place to learn and having fun doing so. I also say thank you all.

I'm not sure JRHartley is that unique. There seem to be more than one of him.

All of the sudden the title "north african" sounds so much more exotic than the simple term "terrorist". I guess I should tell people I am from "far east" and not pakistan. hehehehe. just joking.
I am glad you see the humor in everyday Dr1 members. You are one of the many people who have come to realize, dr1 is not just a good information source but it comes with free entertainment as well.

There are wits of all kinds on here (half-wit, nit-wits, dim-wits, and just plain witty people. Seriously in 1998 during Huricane Georges thanks to DR1 I was able to get a message through to Yris in Jarabacoa, and the guy personally stopped by her school to delivery the message as the phones were out. Another time a Swedish guy delivered Flowers for me. This community has some wonderful people that have and still belong to it. Other people have rescued a girl that was being seriously abused by her Boyfriens....etc. We have the occasional online personality clashes - big deal. I've learned a lot from this site from both Expats and Dominicans.

Great post ! I used to read the travel section only, but, one day, I ended up reading AZB's post in Mara/Venus section which I thought was hilarious.
DR1 can be intimidating at first, because a lot of posters know each other, so it feels like you are intruding a bit, but the dynamics is great in my opinion.

Love Moroccan and their culture (food is out of this world) :cheeky: Did you know they had a Moroccan restaurant in Las Terrenas ? I went for drinks and met the owners (a Moroccan couple from France), but didn't taste the food.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
AZB LOL, when people see me they always ask what the fatwa.
Chiri, we are all neighbours one way or another.
Bob Saunders, a community worth to be known.
Africaida, never been to Las Terranas, but I have a Moroccan friend in San Diego. I am on a diet, do not talk about Moroccan cuisine :cheeky:
Have a great week end, I am off to Montreal before flying to POP. Hope to meet some of you during my short stay.

Why did you have to mention Moroccan food at this time of the day? I was hungry and then I read this. :(
My sister-in-law is moroccan and I have been to morocco. She cooks food which is from out of this world. One of the reason I go to atlanta and stay in my brother's house is because she always cooks for me. Yum yummy yummmmmm.
I was in casa-blanca (note: the moroccan main city, not the whore house in santiago-heheheh), her family cooked up a huge fish with shrimp stuffing inside, rice and other veggies as side dishes. man o man, I ate more than I could eat. The next day they roasted a baby lamb for me. Ummm, I am not a big lamb fan but I ate that up just as well as anything else that was on the table. You guys have tried the cactus fruit? I ate like 5 of them from a street vendor. Just can't find them in DR.

Corrected:
Affliction.

Well at least some act that way. :cheeky:

Agreed OP, it's an interesting forum. Lot's of characters on the boards. Most interesting part is in the mix of original backgrounds of posters. Interesting how we all landed here. Don't need a "novella" when I can just read this weekly instead.

Good reading.

AZB- I bought cactus fruit in Playero in Sosua. I assume they must have been in season. This was back in March/April. Now they don't have them. I have no idea if they were grown here or imported.

But, you are right. They ARE delicious and are supposed to be one of the most nutritious things you can eat.

Je voudrais bien dire que pendant des annees je croyais que le femmes les plus belles du monde sont des Morocaines, mais depuis je suis ici, je ne suis plus aussi sur!
Viens et allons voire! Il y a de la concurance.
I'm only on DR1 since a small time but believe me. --They're all Loonies!
Except me of course.
