My company is considering establishing a base in the DR. We are looking for a qualified and reasonably affordable labor base (as compared to US costs) for image analyst work.
The work basically consists of using airborne LiDAR data to create a digital elevation model and ortho-rectifying aerial nadir imagery. We have English software for this function, but the images need to be QA'd for seam lines, etc.
We are considering 20-30 employees.
Does anyone know of a good location, near a university or other pool of computer software processing talent? Do you think that we could locate enough skilled workers in the DR to fill these positions?
We basically need college graduates with software familiarity.
