I am a recent college graduate who spent last semester in Santiago studying at PUCMM - incredible. I want to give back to the city that so graciously hosted me.

I am planning on spending ~ 6 months (January - Juneish). Currently, I am planing on working at a girls home in Santo Domingo, but Santiago has my heart. I really, really want to be in Santiago.

Does anyone know of any live-in volunteer opportunities (orphanages, children's homes, etc) in Santiago?

Please please please?

Most of the kids that study a semester at PUCMM are taking a "Semester Abroad" program sponsored by their universities in conjunction with the Ciee or some other acrediteted group...They sutdy language, Caribbean Studies, History and such...

Alicia: I don't know how to work it out, but there is an orphanage in the south part of town that might be able to use you and that "might" offer living facilities. It would be pretty basic I am sure. Send me a PM and I will get you more details.

Cordially,
