I understand there is an Amber mine in Cordillera Septentrional which is just south of POP. If any one could provide detailed driving directions and any other information that you might have on this mine would be appreciated. thanks Phil

if you take the tourist highway from monte llano to santiago, and between sonador, and la cumbre there are a couple of amber mines.....don't expect anything major, as they usually are just a big hole in the ground....I took a friend from Denmark (she makes jewelery) to an amber mine and she was slightly disappointed.....If you stop at any amber stores up there just ask to go to their mine and they will be happy to take you
