Puerto Plata to Santiago....

Hi there,

I was wondering how much it would cost to get a bus from Puerto Plata to Santiago? Do they run pretty regularly and on schedule? And once in Santiago, does anyone know how much a guagua is from Santiago to Tamboril?

If you take a "voladora" like one of the smaller 30 passenger JAVILLA buses, it is less than 100 pesos...If you take a luxury liner like Metro or Caribe Tour (bring a sweater or a light jacket) it is a little over 100 pesos...At the Caribe bus station you can walk down 50 yards to 27 de Febrero and get a minibus to Tamboril..

What are you going to do in Tamboril???

No, not cigars. :)
Just to visit a friend. Do you know by chance how much a guagua would be or a taxi from the bus station to "downtown" Tamboril???

You do not need a taxi...Just go to 27 de Febrero and wait for one of the vehicles that go to Tamboril. They have triangular white stickers on the side. The also say Tamboril...

Maybe $20 pesos or 30 at the most...
