Thinking of Barcelo Bavaro Garden Hotel.

Good Day All,

I am thinking of the Barcelo Bavaro Garden all inclusive vacation that is advertised in the sunquest summer 2001 book. I was wondering if anyone had any input on this resort? I am interested in things such as:

* Dominant language
* Average tipping for various crewmembers of the resort.
* Weather and bugs in May - June.
* Cleanliness of resort.
* And any other helpful hints.

I would also love to hear short stories of your time spent in the resort.

Dominant Language: Spanish, lots of English spoken by staff.
tipping not required but your choice if you like the service, I usually give couple $US to bar tender daily and leave $10 to maid.
Weather and bugs about the same all year round, a little off fantastic around ankles at night, they are really not bad.
Resort is very clean and well maintained as is all Barcelo Resorts that I have been too.
Other hints: Go and enjoy the DR, it is paradise.

You will also have the use of all the facilities(beach, pools,bars, disco's and restaurants) in the Barcelo Bavaro Beach, Bavaro Casino and Bavaro Golf but not the Barcelo Bavaro Palace whch is very exclusive. The resort complex is humunguous and there is free transportation around the facility. there is also a very nice Plaza available for shopping on the grounds.
The beach here is white powdery sand and is very nice, it is very safe for swimming and water sports with the reef about 800 metres offshore. Windsurfing is excellent here and equipment is supplied at Aquatic centre #1. There is also lots of shade from the coconut palms which line the beach.
this is a good choice.

Hi, i am wondering about the layout at the Garden, where we are staying in April. I understand that the adjoining Beach hotel has five separate buildings...is it the same at the Garden? Is their any particular rooms to request? Are the rooms in good condition? Any input is appreciated!! Thanks!

There is a map of the entire Bavaro Beach complex that will show you the layout of the Garden and Beach hotels, including their individual buildings. Go to www.BocaChicaBeach.net, click on Links, then see the Maps section.

I only count 4 buildings in the Beach section, and it is not the same layout as the Garden.

rooms were redone in 1997-98 and are in good shape, buildings in a U formation with two wings in the centre court. so essentially there are5 buidings.
It is a good choice.
