The DR1 news indicates that the Central Bank is taking bids on it. I searched the archives, but couldn't find any background. One of the caddies told me that it took 6 years to build, which would generally indicate some complications.

Caribbean Village Playa Grande hotel is not Playa Grande. What the Central Bank is referring to is the Playa Grande project which would fit many Caribbean Village Playa Grande hotels. The Central Bank has sought buyers in the past but wanted to sell off the whole project, not individual hotel properties like it did in the case of the CV Playa Grande hotel.
