I'm scheduled for triple bypass surgery tomorrow, although the date may be bumped by emergency. I hope to be back online by around the 27-28 of December. I'm 5 foot 8 and weight 170 lbs and eat mainly vegetables and fruit, and exercise. Hard to beat heredity thought. Wish me luck. <object width="640" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Us-TVg40ExM&hl=en_US&feature=player_detailpage&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Us-TVg40ExM&hl=en_US&feature=player_detailpage&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></embed></object>

Good luck

As a heart attack survivor, the bypass is better than the alternative!

Miloskorac thanks for the link and the support. I'm already a non-smoker, light drinker, and exercise everyday, until I was told to stop until after surgery. The biggest thing, after the operation is the first two weeks. I've already experimented in getting out of bed without use of my arms. Harder than you think. I don't have any other health issues so I should be good.

Yea, the options aren't great. On the negative side my mom's father died at 56 from heart problems, but on the positive side I have no damage to my heart and my dad is 80 and my mom is 77.

Keeping you my thoughts and prayers Bob. My dad came through bypass surgery with flying colors, and he was 72 at the time.

Surgery

You being in good shape with no cardiac damage the procedure should be duck soup. Its a pretty routine operation these days and surgeons have done hundreds. You wont need it but good luck anyway. Hope to see ya back here with your excellent advice and interesting point of view. Hurry back.
