Some how I wound up with a free subscription to this magazine. The latest edition lists what they consider to be the five hundred best hotels in the world. There around thirty listed in the caribbean section. Several in Jamaica. Not one in the Dominican Republic. Comments ? ?

Tortuga Bay received the AAA Five Diamond Award and is member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
Casa Colonial is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and was awarded the AAA Four Diamond Award.
Sivory Punta Cana also belong the the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, received the AAA Four Diamond Award, and in 2007 was featured in T&L's World's Greatest Hotels, Resorts & Spas.
Casa de Campo's awards are too many for me to list them here.
Maybe they're waiting for the new Fairmont to open.
And the list goes on and on.
