Cant be done. Unless you are going to make your own job you will be hard-pressed to encounter a job you can live off of reasonably comfortable. Now if you have vocatinal skills and 1st world experience you can make yourself your own career by up-selling your professionality.

You married a Dominican, right? You're best bet would be to ask the family if they can help. I would expect that you are bilingual too.

As far a moving to the DR that is de menos importancia as they say.

Best of luck

Te la vas a tener que buscar. That won't happen until you get here, and Dominican's like saying, pa' eso hay que sentarse y hablar. So be patient and wait till you arrive and things will happen kiddo. (Then again maybe not) :p

Most companies will not hire you until you have your residencia and your cedula. Without that you are an illegal employee and the company is at risk.

The gov't here is cracking down on illegal employees.

If you don't have 6 to 12 months of expenses saved to support yourself, don't do it! If you do then come on down, get yourself legal and then find yourself a job.

But first do all the research you can.

You married a Dominican, right? .........

I must have missed that, I read all 14 of her posts
and saw where she asked about marriage,
but did not see where she said she got married.

Must be time for me to get new glasses!

Why Don do you have to follow me around on DR1 and criticize my posts?

Maybe you should research a little better too. If you don't understand Spanish that's not my fault either:

http://www.dr1.com/forums/living/109499-about-marriage.html

Not following you around Chip.

I was reading her posts and saw that it was posted she married a Dominican.
So I went back and re-read, still do not see where she said she got married.

You wished her happiness in one post and in another you mentioned "You married a Dominican, Right".

Oh well, my bad, the eyesight is failing me, that's the only references that she got married, both from you. Please do this old man a favor, and quote the post where she said she got married.

I looked at the Spanish and I clicked on the link you supplied, still nothing.
Must be a senior moment on my part.
What words in Spanish did I miss where it stated she got married?

Not being sarcastic, just trying to figure why I'm missing it. Thanks.......

Excuse me if I have my facts wrong.....................

PS: I have lots of free time here with nothing to do except to read DR1 all day.

First ,If you want for a job from this site,
You must be autonomous to come in the R.D.
you're not mature to come to the R.D.
Speak English,Spanish,French,et tambien Espagnol.
Must have 5,000$ us for the first two mounts.
Must have 2,000$ us to find somebody to help you.
The R.D. are not a refuge for the poor.
If you get money, you are Welcome,if not, stay in your country.
Bonne r?flexion.

This back and forth between two of my friends is tedious at best. Get off of it guys. You are like a hens with ruffled feathers...sheesh!

This poor girl seems a bit ditzy IMO....and nobody has really been much of a help!!

Girl, I'll tell you straight up. Do not do what you are thinking of doing!!! First, do a search for Hillbilly's Golden Rules for marrying a Dominican...just broad outlines but good ones, backed by nearly 50 years of experience here.

Second, see if you have the necessary 5-8,000 dollars needed to get set up here.
Third, think hard if you would even consider this guy if he were in the USA...

And forth, always leave a way out. Keep what used to be called "mad money"--sufficient for you to get home again and back into life there.

Cordially,

HB
