Never been to DR before. Arriving at Santodomingo unfortunately.

I would like a hotel that is the following:
- clean, nice
- more or less near the beach
- near the nightlife (i want to minimize taxi/moto costs)
- chica friendly

I dont care about price as much as the above.

Thanks

I would recommend New Garden or the Seabreeze. Both have websites you can check out and they are both very close to one another. New Garden is nicer, but more expensive.

I would definitely recommend the Sos?a Bay Hotel/Sos?a Bay Beach Club. It is right on the beach. It is walking distance to all the discos and restaurants. It has three pools, it's own Gymnasium, Casino and late-night disco within the complex. It has many options including all-inclusive or room only and it is chica friendly. Plus the views of the bay and the ocean are beautiful. The web-site is a little out of date so you would be better off calling. 809-571-4000. Good luck, and welcome to Sos?a.

i agree with calling the hotel. the prices on the website are not what they wanted to charge me at the SosuaBay Club.

Ive stayed at Terra Linda and Seabreeze and and they both fulfill all your above requirements although seabreeze was cheaper and had a mildew kind of smell, and Terra Linda was about 30 bucks more but had indoor restaurant and nicer amenities. Never stayed at New Garden but it looks nice.

Hey why not visit all of them and make an executive decision?Im sure the desk workers could let you view the rooms before booking, unless u plan on booking before you travel. Sometimes if you do a walk-in booking you can negotiate.

Personally tho i liked Terra Linda.

Villas for rent

I am looking for some recommendations on Villas/Homes - w a minimum of 4BR for rent on the north coast. Preferably we would want to be in close proximity to some action, but its not mandatory.
Our group is a mixed bag, two of em are interested in the nightlife (incl overnighters) and the rest of us are interested in hanging out at a 'regular' spot and meeting women that are not in the sex trade.
So I guess we would need a villa that does not frown on overnight guests and some recommendations on where on the island we can hang out and have fun with 'regular' women.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

most of them are still there. just so you know, rocky's, terra linda, casa valeria, new garden are all on the same street. seabreeze, sosua by the sea, casa marina (AI) are all on the same street as well.
all of the above are within a 5-10 walk to most nightlife. maybe 15 minutes to the beach or just jump on a moto and you're there in 3 minutes.
i would look into my villa suggestions......

Thanks Kyle...the villas look nice but I am sure they are out of my league money wise...so the hotels/appartments are probably better for me :)

Good list...thank you...however I feel that some of theese hotels do not exist anymore...or have changed names...I am not sure which ones though...

I'm always up for updating the list. Still amazed some places don't seem to have even a basic website. Sosua, meet Facebook-- Facebook, meet Sosua. What I'd really like to see are some complete maps of the town with links for every menu in all the restaurants along with the info on all the hotels.

Not to pry, but if you know you have different agendas, why would you look to rent a house together. Most self respecting chicas are not going to want to been seen in the company (house) with known working girls. And trust me, they know who the working girls are. I have made this mistake before. I know renting a house probably comes out cheaper, but in the long run, it will be worth it. For the guys looking for the "overnighters" I would sugguest casa linda. Casa linda has 2, 3, 4 bedroom villas, why not put the guys looking for the "overnighters" in one villa and the rest in another. In your search for regular girls, there are beautiful women just about any place you go, airport, supermarket, restaurants, bars, university, etc. Good luck with your search.
