I dont use them personally, I think you have to call them via phone and they are normally only used by dominicans so I doubt they speak any English.
Tecni Taxi 809-320-7621 If you are on the guagua from Sosua go into Puerto Plata, past Jose Luis Supermercade past the hospital and as you go down the hill under the overpass, get off the gua gua at the lights and cross the road to head back up the hill (same street) Tecni Taxi has their office and taxis on the south side of the road.
Tecni Taxi has a bunch of taxis and small vans out front.....
Or if you go all the way to Central Park there is a taxi station right beside Mariposa Ice Cream Shop.

I was in POP this morning for a doctor appointment and while there checked with the Tecni taxi. They said price to Ocean World was RD$450. I told them that was the tourist price, not Dominican price, but they said it was price for everyone. Vamos a ver.
At least now I know the maximum.

That sounds about right.
I'd be surprised if you can get one for 200.
I have used them a few times from Costambar to Playa Dorada and paid around 600.
Sorry about the wrong information, I guess the person who told me they paid 200 was exagerating the difference between the Tecni taxi price and the union taxi price, to make a point.
Tecni taxi rate POP - OW is 200 pesos no more then that. I take it once a week. Last time a driver wanted to charge 250 but I made him call to central and it ended up being 200 pesos.
