electricity outages

I understand that electrical outages are almost a daily event in DR. Is this accurate. Does one need to make sure that a house has a generator?

Electrical outages "Apagones" are worst now than ever. It is not uncommon to be WITHOUT for periods up to 24hrs. I do recommend that your house be equipped with an alternate power source, Generator or Inverter.
