You might be able to buy suspenders in a hardware store for holding up a tool belt and then cannibalize them for your own use. They are typically made with 2" webbing:

That is about the only place you could find them even in the US nowadays. I wouldn't be too optimistic down there.

I don't need 50, just 8, so I didn't wanna end up paying more for shipping than the actual item, unfortunately, I'm also in Santiago, but I will check the hardware store and see what I can find.

I was gonna use these to make straps to keep the fitted sheet from coming off the bed.

Walmart sells actual straps designed solely for the purpose you want.

I am coming back in about a week to Santiago.
Would you like for me to bring you a few packs of them back for you?

I go to Walmart everyday, I only live 1 mile from the Supercenter.
Let me know ASAP, busy packing bags at this very moment.

Sheet Straps

Cost: About $5 for a set of 4

(I can check price later at Walmart if needed)

Sheet straps keep sheets (& mattress pad) snug night after night! Elastic straps clip to the corners of sheet and slip under mattress for a smooth fit that won’t wriggle off. Ideal for restless sleepers, or for fitted sheets that have lost their elasticity. Also convert flat sheets into fitted style. Adjust for any sheet size.

UPDATE:

The price is $4.97 U.S + tax = $5.30 U.S.

At 37.30 pesos to the dollar that comes to: 197.69 Pesos

They are made by "MAINSTAY" - 4 straps to a pack.

Similar as shown in the picture.
Adjustment is accomplished by where you place them on the corner sides.

The bed sheet straps from WalMart have plastic loops ($4.97)

Bed, Bath and Beyond has similar straps with metal loops ($4.99)

Both are a set of 4

Personally, I would splurge and spend the extra 2? and get the ones from Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I need these myself, since my Haitiana doesn't understand that my king sized sheets are longer than they are wide.

She's batting 1000 on putting them on the wrong way.

But personally, I enjoy waking up in the middle of the night on an uncovered corner of my mattress. Gives me something to do after I go tinkle.

I still have time to pick up some more of these Bed Sheet Straps.

But time is running out!

I live in Santiago, if you live else where and know someone making the trip from Santiago, they could deliver for you.

Just 200 pesos for peace of mind and less time getting back to sleep after your trips to tinkle.... ;) lol

Training the Haitiana to put them on the sheets is your responsibility......
