Swindle at Costa Bavaro
I am a Canadaian who vacations in the DR and next year after my retirement I plan to spend a few months at a time in a rented condo. In my years in law enforcement i have learne dthat crooks and swindlers abound in all countries but they flourish better where there are no real legal consequences. i do not know enough about the DR legal system but i can tell you i find the DR people friendly, caring and proud of thier island.

I am so very surprised to read this. I almost bought an apartment in this villas Bavaros last year with an real estate firm who insisted that it was ok to buy without titles,I spoke to their lawyer and he confirmed this is normal in Dominican Republic. We spoke to other real estate firms and did not buy on that trip because other firm told us there were problems there. So glad I bought an apartment in Cocotal with a title.
