Does anybody know if the Monday market day is still being held in Dajabon? Any recommendations on a place to spend the night in Dajabon?

Have there been any reports of Cholera in the Dajabon area?
Thanks.

The market is open on Mondays and Fridays, there are hotels in Dajabo, as far as the Cholera, the way things are right now, you could bet on their being cholera in that town.

open market

The market days are still Mondays and Fridays, but the location has changed. if you havn't been there for awhile, the market is now next to the new bridge and no longer on the streets in town. There is a closed off area this side of the bridge, a couple of acres, more crowded than before. Some areas are under cover of the building that was to be built for the market ( and will never be finished) the rest is open on the dirt parking lot. Muddy when it rains.
as for hotels, on the right coming into town there is a new hotel just before the monument, also the hotel Masacre, they have good food.
There is a resturant behind the Texaco station that is like a sports bar, many gringos ( peace corp, missionaries and other do gooders are there, also local gringos<not so do gooders>, international police, and at present Chilean peace keepers from Haiti also like this place). Come and enjoy the forgotten section of the DR.
