Hi - I arrive in Santiago this coming Saturday 2/19 at 3:30 am and am traveling to Las Galers and want to know what to expect to pay for a taxi for the trip - or if I take a bus - how much does that cost and what time does it depart and from where?

I did this once about 3 or 4 years ago, taxi cost $200. At that time there didn't appear to be a direct air or bus solution. Maybe that has changed. Why not ask your hotel or host?

Thank you for your response -- I think I might take a taxi to Las Galeras and a bus back to Santiago on Tuesday evening so I can catch my early morning Wed flight back to the US -- it makes the most sense for me so that I don't linger in Samana until 6 or 7 am.
I am wondering can you recommend some places to eat in Las Galeras? and what early and late are places open and people around.
Do you think I should negotiate with the taxi's at the airport for a ride to the Galeras?
