There are so many types of rice for sale in the supermarkets here and am wondering if anyone can enlighten me as to the nicest brand? Am looking for something similar to indian basmati rice (without wanting to pay the 250pesos that playero are asking for a kilo of basmati!)

ps if you're looking for a nice real brown rice then i can strongly recommend the Bisono brand

I have not seen anything similar to a basmati rice here that wasn't a tiny bag of real basmati at a very high price.

That said, La Garza is the family white rice favorite.

Basmati Rice

Basmati rice was available at City Market last time I checked. About $30 for 11 lbs. Not a great price, but not too bad either.
