Hi, The previous thread was closed in 2007 so I figured things have changed.

We`are looking for a reputable ophthalmologist and a place where we can quickly get top quality prescription glasses.

We reside in Cabarete area, so anywhere near is appreciated.

There are ophthalmologists with offices in Centro Medico Bournigal in Puerto Plata. Don't know how good they are, but certainly good enough to do an eye exam and prescribe glasses.

Used Dr. Burroughs at Centro Medical Bournigal for an eye infection. He was very thorough and pleasant. He speaks English well. He is U.S. trained in opthalmology.

Do not play with your eyes:
Dr. Pedro Guzman and son at Corominas.
Dr. Joe Asilis and ??? at Clinica Bonilla (rightnext door)..

You only have two and they are not replaceable!!
