Yes they do, you are wrong. Why should these people not be kidnapped randomly like happens all over the world all the time.
Sure it is possible they were mixed up in something but I don't see what automatically points to that.

Ditto what Robert and Kyle said. hmm Canadians with non Canadian names again.
I don't like to play blame the victim game but in this case we shall see.
The kidnappers are still guilty no matter what the story on the victims is.

So then EXACTLY what is a " CANADIAN NAME?" Do you not know that Canada is a melting pot? All of us came from some where else.

Allow me to try that comment again.

What makes you think there was something a little more than a random oportunist kidnapping.

America is a melting pot, Canada calls itself a "cultural mosaic". Just saying :)

And since we're playing the guessing game, they were probably spending and flashing too much money in the wrong part of town...

"abducted by several men",,one or two guys acting out is one thing, but, to get several men involved in a crime this is more than a street "mugging". they just recovered 25 million dollars worth of jewels that were stolen in Paris last year, out of a haul of 110 million, nine were arrested. this is more than two thugs on a motoconcho.............

http://www.dominicantoday.com/dr/lo...adians-from-kidnappers-diariolibrecom-reports

because, as a general rule, we actually do not HAVE random opportunistic kidnappings here.

even in Haiti, most of the kidnappings are of Haitian Americans or Haitian Canadians who are known to the kidnappers.

Kidnapping is a pretty advanced and terrible crime.

Gracias a Dios, no hay muchos aqui.

Sorry there were some Belisle, Tremblay, Lemay, and St Jean also. I have a good friend that I've lost touch with, Simon Beaulieu.

Ever seen this caption on t-shirt?

"My Name Causes National Security Alerts, What Does Yours Do?"

In this day and age --- names mean NOTHING!

$15,000 is peanuts. If this was a screwed up business deal or even a well thought out plan involving criminals of a higher ciminal standing they would not be asking for a mere $15,000.
I'll keep an open mind but nothing jumps out as being obvious in any way to me.
