I have a friend who is interested in opening an Adult Webcam Studio in DR.
He already owns and operates several Webcam Studios in Canada.
All his models are adults and he clearly as no intentions of engaging in any form of prostitution or any other type of illegal activity.
I read a few weeks ago of the events in Santiago, where a similar business was raided and ask him to hold off on is plans until I investigated further.
Can Dr. Guzman or any one on this forum share there opinions on this matter.
To my knowledge, webcam studios have been around for a while now and are 100% legal in every other country.
Could the DR be the only exception??? If so, under what law?

Tell your "friend" to drop a few dimes and actually hire Dr. Guzman and get actual legal advice.

You will only get opinions on a message board.

Why would he "plan" without doing real homework first?

That's the whole point Cobra... "HOMEWORK". Start off here and decide if he needs to go for a formal consultation...

A smart guy if he were actually serious would cut out the useless chatter and just go get solid advice up front.

My opinion is that anything that upsets tourists or the church is illegal. Actually webcam studios are illegal in many countries. Like many countries that depend on tourism any open advert for such activities is frowned upon.
I don't think the law has much to do with it.
Everything is "Legal" until the arresting officer tells you it isn't :)

I just remember why I stayed away from this forum for so long...
Lack of objectivity of some the members, close mindedness etc...
I can't understand why if someone can't bring nothing to the discussion , why not simply stay out of it and move on to the next topic!

The question:

Is this type of business legal or illegal in The DR?

Condorito, no one asked about your feelings on the matter? No one spoke about prostitution or peddlers... Unless I misunderstood your coment. How does this help me answer my question ?

You can always ask the lieutantant who "extorted" 7 figures from you for help in avoiding any trouble. You must be snake bit. Do a search of iluvdr threads and see: Supposedly you:
*Wanted to open a strip club...???
*Opened a call center????
*Wanted to open an escort service...???
*Advertised to pay a "nice girl" $1000/night, no sex involved....????
*Wanted to buy a Malecon Center apartment...?????
*Got taken by a business partner...????

Those are from 2004/2005. I havent's read any further.

One interesting thread: http://www.dr1.com/forums/legal/40545-s-o-s-need-lawyer-political-connections.html

Thanks.

Thanks guys for all your Help!
You are right Cobra... I should have consulted a lawyer rather then waste my and every one else time on this forum.
At least some of you had quite a laugh at my expense.
Would the moderator be kind enough to remove this thread from the forum.
I did not expect to come here and get mocked or put down!
People who read this might get intimidated to post there questions...

Good luck every one!
