salary in santiago

i was just wondering how much is considered a good amount of money per month from a job? What is considered average? Above average? How much should one expect a month to be able to cover food expense, rent, utilities, etc? I'm talking average here not to live like a rich person, but comfortable in the santiago areas.

Well in the moment with all the fiscal changes and so on it may lock like this to a foreigner (monthly):

good job (if avaiable) RD 15.000.--

Apartment (in secure area) RD 5000 - 8000.-

Food (1 person) RD 3000 - 5000.-

others expenses (shoes, cloth) RD 2000 - 3000.-

Health insurance?

Car?

entertainment (Disco, Rest. etc)

Numbers may chage due to different location and needs, but you want to bring money in here to live from? I know people working over here and they just have no money to buy or maintain a car and living always on the edge!

The best way to escape this is to have a own business, but with all the social chagnes the competition is getting harder every day! (Dominicans work for 3000 to 5000 pesos!)
