The outlook for the Dominican movie industry is looking much stronger due to facts that there is totally a different approach and that Dominicans are willing to do something else other than just humor related films.

Who cares what they are willing to do? It is really a case of what they are willing to pay to see. And what will film-makers finance? There is the rub.

What they are willing to do is very important too because if they do things that only appeals to Dominicans, I am very sure that financing would be much harder.

I think filmmakers will be willing to provide a good percentage of the project if they see that the project has more of a marketable international taste. Believe it or not DR is getting well connected in the film industry and don't know what it is with Dominicans that they tend to gravitate toward performing art and music.
