    Default who's doin' what?

Hey kidz. I don't know if this is kosher on the forums or not, but I'll run it up the flagpole and see how it goes.

Call me inquisitive or just plain old nosey, but when reading through the various posts and threads, I often find myself wondering what everyone does for work, or what business they are in.

I realize that maybe to some people and maybe in some cultures, asking about someone's vocation might be considered invasive, or downright impolite; but it's pretty common in U.S. and many other places. Besides, we don't know each other's real name, so it's all basically anonymous anyway. Rest assured I mean no harm and no offense.

I'll start: I'm a commercial photographer, servicing mostly corporate and institutional clients. Basically I take the kinds of photos you might see on a company's annual report, sales brochures, etc.; or a university's recruitment materials or web sites, etc. etc.

    Next! Who's doin' what?

I’m an Engineer that specializes in oil field services.

But you are correct that for some people this question is quite invasive.
