Are these 2 places near La Vega worth a visit from Santiago? Or only for real historians and archeologists?
Thanks,

At La Vega Vieja there are sufficient walls and other remains to make a short visit interesting though there is little info on site.

Santo Cerro has an interesting old church and pleasant village + the tree associated with Colon. You also get a great view of the Cibao. Certainly IMO enough for a visit.

TO me anywhere I havent been is worth a visit I found those places to be worth a look around I am still trying to get to Navia I want to see that salt water lake someday. it depends on how much time you have if you are driving to the capital then stop. but then again I am not a sit on the beach and drink kind of person.

There are also visible ruins at the original site of Santiago - forgotten the name and location! but others may be able to help.
