Besides some very eye-catching wait-staff, there is another attraction for the CocoCabana Bar and Grill: Good food and live music.

The place is really nice. Clean as a whistle, well lit dining area, good Dominican food, prepared by Dominican chefs/cooks and overseen by the woman who attends to the needs of the Berm?dez family in Santiago. The Do?a does the seasoning of most of the food. Portions are generous, and the bill for 5 came to around $70 with no alcoholic drinks.

They have ice cold Presidente as well as most of the other beers and liquors you might like. The bar area is very Dominican and if you speak the language, you walk in and yell "Primo!" to whoever is there and you are immediately like family.

You know that craving for a good Mofongo? You got it! Un bifstek con cebollas? Yup! Tostones? Yup. Arroz y habichuelas? Of course, with that great home=made flavor...

Oh yeah: Happy hour is 5-8 p.m....

It is located at Barclay Square Plaza at 2944 Jog Rd. and 10th Ave. in Greenacres, FL. Their website is Home

If you are in the West Palm Beach area, this is a must stop in place.

The owner is from Santiago...which is why it is so way cool...Just so youcan't say you didn't know...enjoy...

Thanks for the info HB. My parents retired to Lake Worth, I wish that place was there when they were...... I'll have to remember it when I go to visit my aunt in Boynton Beach.

Just go up JOG, and it will be on your left coming from Boynton...

I know exactly where you talking about. I lived for a year in Boyton Beach by Military Trail. lol

Too boring for me and ended up moving to Hollywood.

I have a bucket list of what to eat every time I go back to the States for two to three weeks and I inevitably gain about 5 lbs (which is a lot for a little guy) by eating lots of the bandera with bifstec encebollado and ropa vieja and also NY pizza and Texas bbcue. :)

I have a similar agenda. Haven't found ropa vieja like my mom's anywhere. Jumped in my dune buggy and got Food Shack, Square Grouper and Guanabanas out of the way, heading south tomorrow and hopefully will hit CocoCabanas before an MIA airport run
