I had this same problem last year when I downloaded itunes from here, seems to have some bugs or some kind of download fault.
Each time I am downloading a new App it gives me a fault, can not download prompt. Some of them get through even though I am prompted it hasn't made it, but every time I am prompted the same thing. Has anyone else had such problems with this?

Oh, one more thing. I have a new computer and it does not carry over my bought Apps or music from my old one, even though I have accessed my account. My buys are listed but not real, just in list form. DO I need to buy every single App I have bought again? This is extremely frustrating as they are there, but not!!

Someone more computer savvy can give you a better answer, but I believe you have to activate the new computer on your Itunes account. Go to "Store" on Itunes menu. Open the menu. Click "activate this computer." Maybe that will solve your problem.

Good luck.

I am not sure but could it have something to do with your IP address. I know with my nook (electronic book) if my IP address showes the computer is in the DR I cannot buy books online because of "copyright" issues.

Hmm, I downloaded fine last year from outside of the centre of the city, I'm now slap bang in the centre and seem to be having problems. I had a feeling it might be to do with my location, but considering there is only around 8km difference between where I am now and where I was a year ago would that make a difference. Sorry, I'm not a big techy person IP address? that would be efected by 8or9KM?

When I wrote to them they got back pretty quickly and told me they did have problems with certain destinations, they went on to tell me about all the complaints they were getting from US troops based in remote locations. I wrote back and told them I'm a short distance away here what has this to do with my problem. I received an apology and no real help other than to keep trying, lol. Quick but useless!

Can you give some specifics? What type of computer do you have? Do you know what version of the operating system you are running? What version of iTunes do you have? When you say downloading Apps, are you referring to an iPhone or your computer? Remember, you need to be as specific as possible. "Each time I am downloading a new App it gives me a fault" is not very helpful when trying to assess a problem. What is the exact error message? You mention a download prompt. What does the prompt say? (Sorry, not trying to be snarky, just trying to get as much info as possible).

Do you know how to take screen shots and post them? That can be very helpful.

iTunes accounts and stores are country specific. I have accounts for both the USA and DR.

Accounts can roam, so if you login from the DR on an USA account, you get the USA store.
When the accounts are initially created, the IP is used to set the location.
You can change the country after you have signed up.
iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store account

What country is your account?
Are you trying to merge content from multiple country accounts?
Did you backup your iTunes and other files?

Interesting stuff here. I think I have a bug of some sort. I download an App from the menu on itunes, that then fails within a minute at most, it tends to say 'stopped, error 2345', or something around that number. I then right click on the semi downloaded App from the list and click on the 'download' option from the pulldown menu, it then downloads perfectly well. Strange but I can work around it, only issue is only downloading one App at a time. I lost all my Apps for some reason when I changed computer and reset my unit.
I was using itunes UK, I had no idea there was an itunes DR, but I secondly downloaded it from here so presumed it would load the best option, or maybe that is putting to much confidence in technology.
Anyway, I have a way of sorts around it, not good, but better than nowt.

About the only thing I can suggest also. I've downloaded apps. using iTunes, Cydia and Installous everywhere from Santo Domingo, Canada, Puerto Rico & USA without any problems. Oh yea, reset your iphone that's worth a try.
