I know the nature of the question may seem superficial, but I am only curious because I am looking into going to to the expat filled areas of the DR to meet expats like in Las Terrenas for example. I am learning french it'd be my third language of course and I don't know how the french in Las Terrenas are friendly.

I'm sorry, I really don't understand your question. Why would you expect to be treated any differently?

The are people from all over the world and with many different backgrounds living in the Dominican Republic.

Depends on the social class of the person. Tigres/street hustlers are invisible to me, I don't even acknowledge existence of these animals. I have a few friends with nice jobs and are trying to work a lifestlye through being good people, I have all the time in the worlds for these friends, and anyone else with this outlook in life.
If you are a good person, I treat you as such, if you try to pull one over on me, then you never get a second chance!
