When returning from vacation is there a customs free limit to what you can bring back legally. If so where can I find out.

tell you this, when coming to usa make sure you put all breakable stuff in a bag because damn they sure do ransack your bag...

No. At Christmas time there is a period when Dominicans now living in the US can bring whatever they want, but this does not apply to expats.

Basically you can bring in whatever the customs people don't find, which can be quite a bit if you are returning on a flight with mostly tourists since they usually get waived through without a thorough inspection of the suitcases.
