Any way to get reasonable airfare to DR?

Hi Everyone,

I visited Cabarete 10 years ago and would like to return for a windsurfing trip this summer. However, any savings in hotel and food in DR are more than lost by the outrageous airfare. It will cost over $700 from Orlando, $500 from Miami. I can fly to Hawaii for $700, and Cabarete ain't no Maui. An entire week in the gorge (all inclusive) is just over $700. American Airlines has a stranglehold on this market.

Does anyone know of travel agents, charters or consolidators I can try?

Last minute deals are the only way.

If you are flexible, AA offers last minute deals sometimes. Generally they announce them 1 week in advance. You might be able to contact the airline and be put on notice for such deals. Good Luck!

i am going to punta cana in june. I booked mine through Funjet vacations. I'm leaving out of Dallas. I know only a certain amount of cities are offered throught them though. Hope this helps! Good luck!
