    Default Patio Worx Sosua

Just wondering if anyone has had any kind of success dealing with them? We bought dining room furniture 3 years ago and have had no problems with it at all. When we needed to add a couple of additional pieces to the terrace we shopped around and then decided to go with a set of 2 chairs and small table from them.
Within 4-5 months, one of the chairs (resin) had broken weaves, I took the piece in, and the lady who manages the store said that David Hall (owner) would have to see it, and he was away. So in 3 days I went back, and was told by Mr. Hall that my maid must have used bleach or cut the furniture in some way, I explained that I am the one that looks after the furniture, so then it was still not a fault of the furniture, they had no problem with any of the other pieces they had sold etc etc. Bottom line was they glued the broken pieces. Now the arm is doing the same thing, and the other chair is following the first.
This was not an inexpensive set!! Being that we had been pleased with the original purchase and the fact that it seemed to be the right place to buy outdoor furniture and perhaps deal with an owner as opposed to the regular "not my problem" at one of the other stores, we are hugely disappointed and once again disillusioned by the attitude for customers here. My other half has known this owner for over 20 years and expected a better product and the integrity that goes along with it. Bottom line lower your expectations, and you should be all set to live in the DR. Just my humble opinion!

Sorry to hear about your issues with them. I have bought a table, 4 chairs, an umbrella, 3 pool lounges, a couple of other patio chairs and 2 small tables from them. Made the purchases over a period of years, a couple pieces at a time. I always left the store a little disappointed that they don't seem to remember me as a returning customer. I must ask and pay for transportation, even though I live just down the road in Perla Marina, and I had to ask for a repeat customer, cash paying discount. In the end, what discount they gave me didn't amount to a hill of beans.

Sorrily, Patio Worx has the best quality in the area......and apparently from your post, Spicedwine, the quality isn't as great as we had thought.

I see they have a for sale sign on the business. Not sure if they are selling the property and business or just the adjoining lot. Anyone know?

I've never had a good feeling when visiting there..... consequently, have never purchased.

Sorry to hear about the Mexican Standoff on the chairs..... well, Dominicano Standoff :-))

Never seems too busy.... LK must be Cliente #1..... but not treated accordingly.

I went in once to price out some furniture and it was greatly overpriced. The lady didn't want to bend on the price and wasn't all that helpful.

YEARS ago they had good stuff at a fair price and delivered at no extra charge. We bought lots of stuff and felt OK with the deals. We went within this last year looking for additional new pool furniture and I just about had the heart attack as jr says. The prices are so high that you can not even begin to deal. US $300 +- for a cheap plastic pool lounge? Simply walked out and we will never go back.

Dave's always played straight with me. As for price, hardly a reason to complain -- if you find prices (in general whether at Dave's place, or a restaurant or wherever) to be unreasonable, buy somewhere else, no?

    Wasn't complaining about price.

But we are living in the Caribbean - and they advertise themselves as Caribbean patio specialists. So shouldn't fairly high-end patio furniture bought from a Caribbean retailer stand up to patio conditions in the Caribbean ? 5 months old and already falling apart ?
