According to an item in the Sosua News today, AMET has gotten tough on illegal parking. Probably true since lately I've seen their truck roaming the streets more often than usual:
"The last few weeks, the traffic police acts strictly against illegal parking. Especially in the main street Pedro Clisante where you may only park at one side of the road. Especially in the morning there are many car owners who think that traffic rules do not apply to them. But they are wrong! When the AMET officers encounter an illegal parking, the tow truck arrives and loads the wrong parked car to take it to the police station. After paying the fine, the car can be picked up again at the police station. This office is located on the main street of Sos?a near the city"
