From today's Sosua-News:
"A month ago, a mechanic discovered that at the cable car (Telef?rico) to Mount Isabel de Torres in Puerto Plata, a wire was broken. The wires are twisted together with a thick steel wire. If steel wires are loose, this is obviously dangerous and a threat to the security of the cable car passengers. The Vice Minister of Tourism, Cesar Jos? de los Santos therefore ordered to close the cable car and renew the cables. The entire operation to repair the cables has cost 4.5 million pesos. The cable car was built in 1975 by the Italian company Ceretti-Tanfanni and also the maintenance is in the hands of the company.
"The tourism minister said that the cable car should be 100% safe again for this repair and tourists can again enjoy the wonderful views from the cable car. "
