I will be in DR on Feb 1 and staying at the Jack Tar Village. Is there anything anyone can tell me that would make my stay even better? Any tips on what to do and what not to do? Is the casino open? Thank-you for any info.

We just got back last week and stayed right next to Jack Tar at the Playa Naco resort. We met a couple that were staying at JT and they loved it. The casino was not open when we were there. Not sure when it will reopen. There are two other casinos within walking distance (5-10 min.)if it's not open when you get there.

Spend time relaxing on the beach, go for walks up and down the beach, feel the sand between your toes, enjoy the weather, talk to the local people, take some tours to see the country and it's lovely people and don't spend all your money so you can go back next year because you'll love the country and its people.

Have a great trip.

The resort is ok, the staff is friendly like everybody else in the country, but the JT is not a luxury resort don?t get me wrong, is very nice but within walking distance you will find some magnificent resorts like The Gran Ventana , Flamingo, etc you are allow in this resorts with the ID from the JT even have dinner and dance, but you may find your self a bit disappointed because for a couple more bucks you stay in a better resort.
