When it comes to goods and services, should one let a Dominican do the talking?

Let me explain....

This is the reason for my question: A few months ago we were looking for some office space and I decided to contact a few places that I was interested in. Although Spanish is my primary language, it's obvious I'm not Dominican.

So I called a few places and most of them gave me the rent in USD. Then I had someone else call (who's Dominican), and they not only gave him the price in pesos, but it was also cheaper. The rent ended up being lower when my Dominican colleague dealt with the owner. This happens to me all the time when I'm over there, especially since I look like a gringo.

Well, I'll be doing a few business calls that will be dealing with cost estimates. Should I have a Dominican do the talking?

Thanks.
