if you know the brand and the specifications of your lenses, then order them in the States as Robert specified. You will save a fortune. Just a piece of advice for people doing this. Do get an eye-examination every 6 months or so to make sure those lenses are still the right ones for you... Believe me as an optometrist and contact lens specialist, I know this is a necessity.
but please keep in mind you really do need a check-up every 6 months or so. You can wear lenses problem-free for years, but once the probs start it is very possible they will last a long time. Prevention is better.
in a fridge? i never heard that before. i keep mine in a drawer. and wear 24/7 for weeks. so far so good, seems like my eyes are made to wear contacts. doctor once a year. i hate doctors and one has to do a dentist, a ginecologo, a yearly checkup. too much!
Your justification for every six mos is what? I have been wearing glasses/contacts for the past 45 yrs. I rarely ever get an exam less than two yrs apart and this time its been 5 yrs. I am about at the end of my contacts stash. No problem seeing with them. When I order from 800 contact lens I have never had any with less than a two yr or so away minimum expiration date. In fact this last batch I bought in 2006 with the eye to going out cruising so I had a 5 yr supply.. the current pair I am wearing have a 6/2012 expiration date. That would be 6 yrs from date of purchase. Perhaps it is the company you purchase them from? LB
