FYI I just had a very bad experience with the VIMENCA Bank located in Santiago. To make a long story short they changed the terms of an investment in their favor and then tried to excuse their way out. One of the employees quietly agreed but of course would not actually say it to the person in charge nor did I expect them to. I ate the amount in dispute which was not a lot. I casually talked to my lawyer who said that this is not the first time he had heard of this. This is not an indictment of all Dominican Banks and certainly not the culture as I have been treated fairly in almost every other thing I have done. But Caveat Emptor just like the mainland.
